Calender wont sync (OUtlook and Palm Desktop)

I am a lion.

After months of being unable to sync my Palm TX at all, I can finally do so. Everything syncs except the Calender. I've tried with both Outlook (proffered) and Palm Desktop.

With Outlook the sync log gives me this message:

Outlook Calendar
OLERR:05-0013
OLERR:05-000F
OLERR:0D-000C
OLERR:05-001D
OLERR:0D-0044
OLERR:0D-0004
OLERR:0D-0001
- HH overwrite Desktop Sync
Outlook Calendar synchronization failed

In Palm Desktop, synchronization just hangs.

Any ideas?

1. In Outlook go to the Help Menu and run "Detect and Repair". Have the installation discs handy. Then try again....this will often clear issues.

2. If not, delete the Datebook and Calendar databases from the handheld and then set the Hot Sync to have Outlook overwrite the handheld and this may do it.

3. If not then the data is corrupted in Outlook: Export you Calendar data via the Outlook Export function off of the File menu (I'd recommend csv format). Then delete all data from Outlook and hot sync once. Then import the previously exported data (believe it or not, this clears the corruption) and then again force the hot sync to have Outlook overwrite the Handheld.

If all of the above fails - purchase Chapura's Pocket Mirror Pro XT and all of these issues will go away.....which is the only way to avoid future OLERR errors anyway.

If you need more detail then what I've provided here then post back and I'll go more step by step menu by menu but quite frankly ever since the T3 and Palm supplying the conduits directly instead of the previously supplied by Chapura.....well lets just say that Chapura's direct sales went up after the T3 came out.

Hi -

Spotted your posting just now and thought I'd drop you a line since you seem to know what you're talking about! I'm thinking about getting back into bed with Palm (have used WM5 for 2 years but it's just not the same). Have used a T2 and T3 in the past and my memory is one of simplicity - synching with Palm Desktop. I did have a Lifedrive for a short time and seem to recall that synching was painful - slow and overly cmplicated.

If I get a Palm (via eBay) my priority will be fast/eficient synching with Palm Desktop - nothing fancy, just Datebook, To Do, Address Book, etc + perhaps Doc to Go.

I've a feeling that if I get a new glitzy TX I'll regret it due to this issue. Any recommendations?

Cheers, Ken

I sync an old T|E with Outlloon and have no issues at all. I will be getting a T3 soon and expect no issues as the software on the T3 is exentially the same as on the E.

The T3 conduits are/were not the same as the E's....the original E's were supplied by Chapura as previously noted. The T3's were of Palm origin and they also had a patch for them shortly after the T3 came out.

You'll need to get the update from the support page for the T3 at Palm - and I would recommend that you install the update before your first sync otherwise when you sync the T3 - guaranteed you'll either have duplicates or most likely erasures of some of your data.
