Let's ponder that...

I have a question that is probably pretty stupid, but please be kind in your answers. I want to know if Cadillacs are more expensive to buy parts for and have serviced then GM, because there's this 1993 Cadillac Deville that I fell in love with and can probably afford if I scrimp and pinch, but if the maintenance and repairs are much more expensive than other cars, then I can't get it. Can anyone give me some information on this?
LOL sorry, I guess I really showed my bottom on this question. Thanks for the info! And I learned something today! But what you are saying is that it shouldn't be more costly to take care of than any other car, except for certain parts?

Oh, and do I have to go to a special mechanic for service or will any mechanic do?

Looking back (way back), one of the biggest financial mistakes I made when I was young was buying an old, unreliable car. It left me stranded all the time and by the time I factored in the cost of repairs I could have made monthly payments on a new, economy car.

A 15-year old Caddy is bound to require a lot of expensive care and feeding. If it requires something big like an engine or transmission rebuild it will cost more than the car is worth.

My recommendation would be to take the same amount of money and look for a used Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic. But hey, I am Mr. Practical.

Good luck!

Honey a Cadillac IS a GM made product. You can verify this if you call any GM dealer or anyone that knows much about domestic made vehicles. They are higher end so some of the luxury parts are gonna be more to repair but the mechanical parts are going to be the same except for suspension related components.

I go to jiffy lube and firestone and franchise places and they fix the car and I can afford the costs
