hi everyone in yahooland. i have a 1969 cadillac deville with a 472 motor. i recently heard a knocking sound comming from the engine( ticking) that would then disappear. i did a tuneup and when replacing a spark plug located on the driver side i noticed it had oil on the tip. i then decided to replace 2 hydraulic lifters on the cylinder where i found the oily spark plug, i even changed the valley pan and had the carb rebuilt. the problem.....now that everythings back together, the car starts up fine and idles ok, but when i shut off the car...the engine still rotates and sounds like its struggling to stay on. theres also a knocking sounds while the motor struggles to stay on and the ignition is turned off. please help anyone, thanks
