Ca, Mg, Pb, Reaction of displacing hydrogen ions?

Ok all metals above the hydrogen in the reactivity series can displace hydrogen ions.

i have a question:
When the metals displace the hydrogen ions will this then decrease the pH? (what relation does this have with the pH?)
