I am still in shock.
I layed down my C90. One minute I was riding fine and in a split second I
was down on my side under my bike. It was my first group ride with the Fellowship Riders. We all just turned into a parking lot and proceeded to make a left hand turn. Well while making the turn, I went too wide and too fast. When I realized that I was not going to make it, I made a terrible mistake and pressed on front break. Before I knew it, I was down.
Would you belive that out of 25 riders, I was the only one wearing a leather jacket. If it were not for my leather jacket and my boots, I would be in the hospital for sure.
It took three people to get the bike off of me.
If you want to laugh. I will tell you that while I was down, I was not thinking of my injuries. All I was thinking about was the extent of damage to my Bike
and how I was going to expalin this to Lisa my wife. The last thing I wanted was for her to say i told you so. I hate that.
I got up, surveyed the damage, bent my shift lever back in place and off we went.
The damage to my 90 was minimal. A scraped front fender, busted lightbar, scrathed left hand mirror.
Oh, and by-the-way, If it were not for my saddle bags, my left leg would probably been broken or even worse.
The lesson that must be learned...
Never press on your front break while in a turn. Make sure you straighten out first.
I got a scraped knee and elbow and a bruised hip and ego.
Pretty lucky I would say.
And I thought it would never happen to me. I was so wrong.
If anyone knows where I can get a front fender for my black C90, please let me know.
Just thought I would share this with everyone.
Ride Safe and God bless
Sincerely,
Louie
