I've just started to use a C905 and found that although I can make and receive calls via Bluetooth, the phone will not transmit any ringtones to the headset. When Bluetooth is connected, the 'phone transfers from "phone" to "handsfree" automatically as it should. Is there any other setting that I need to change so that the built-in ringtones are audible via the headset?..Thanks, Mike M.

Don't mark me on this one, as I don't own a headset, but I shouldn't think the headsets will play back any ringtones from your phone. It should have a built in tone of some sort though, so it might be worth checking that out.

Thanks for that - yes, it gives a short "burbling" sound only. The reason I was hoping to get it to play ringtones is that I have dedicated tones for each regular caller, and being able to know who's calling when driving etc allows me to decide if to answer or not. Can't have everything I suppose - it's an excellent phone in other respects....Mike M.

Yeah, well when you think about it, the headset dosn't have any memory, and if you had your ringtone set as an MP3, it would have to stream it to the headset, which I don't think the data transfer speed would be capable of if that makes sense (standard calls are made using a format know as AMR, which takes a lot less memory, hence the headset being able to manage that). You should still be able to set the phone to ring at the same time though - my friend was able to do this with his Samsung D500, so caller identity shouldn't be impossible whilst using the headset.

Hi,

I also have this problem but using a Parrot Car kit. I also have an N95 8GB and that does transmit my mobile ring tone over the Bluetooth connection.

I know this doesnt help much but hoped that someone may have found a solution to this problem?
