C90 Exhaust

Has anyone drilled the exhaust on a C90? If so how did you do it? Were their any drawbacks like loss of MPG, pissed off neighbors? I have an 05 C90 all stock and would like just a little throatier sound from her. If anyone has any ideas I would like to hear them.

The C90 has a far different muffler design than the S50/ S83, so drilling is not really an option. You can completely remove the baffle by breaking the welds, but then you'll have to re-map or at least flash the fuel injection computer. I am not personally impressed by the sound of a debaffled C90- very loud, but not deep and rich.
There are some great aftermarket pipes for this bike, from complete systems and slip ons. That's probably a better way to go.

What pipes would you recommend? The guy who sold me my c90 also has a c90 with 3 in hard krome pipes on it....wow.....what a difference in sound. It almost made a harley sound mild. I would like something better than the stock pipes but not quite sooo loud. Any recommendations?

Hard Kromes, Cruiser Magic, Vance & Hines, and Cobra make systems for the C90. Any can be tunes noise-wise with baffles or different lengths. I am fond of the CM2 and V&H systems. Systems marketed for the 1500LC will fit if you swap to longer exhaust studs.
