I Don't want to know why the caged bird sings (10/14/07)
Midnight Towboy (10/7/07)
Homer of Seville (9/30/07)
He Lovs to Fly and D'ohs (9/23/07)

Of course. That's sadly predictable at this point. The outlook for the third segment doesn't seem very positive either.

But this is a Treehouse of Horror episode after all. And those have been pathetic for years.

I miss the days when the Treehouse of Horror episodes had wraparound segments, i.e., Bart and Lisa telling stories in their treehouse, Bart, Lisa, and Homer having nightmares from eating too much candy, or Marge telling spooky stories at a Halloween party. That's what the ToH episodes need to get back to using to tie the segments together.

I guess that was easier to do when the episodes were a little bit longer. Nowadays these "Halloween" segments go by incredibly fast. Nowadays wraparounds consist of a lame opening (usually with a tacked on Kang and Kodos appearance) where someone complains about how late the episode is airing.

Pretty good opening and first segment. Kang getting killed right as he came out of the portal was pretty good along with some other jokes.

The second act was good, but just felt out of place for a ToH, maybe it's just me. However, the third act was really, really good. Between Skinner getting hit by a bus for looking at a Playboy and the seven sins, including Homer mentioning that he turned into spaghetti earlier.

Overall, much, much better than last year. My only gripe is that it didn't air last week or on Halloween evening.

The blood in the champagne tower gag was great because the guy didn't make some lame comment after he was shot, unlike 99.99% of the characters on the show, such as Skinner at the end of act 2.

EDIT: Wow, lame. They used that same song in a musical montage years ago in the Jimmy Neutron movie. And it was much better there.

Yeah yeah yeah, Harry Plopper again.

I'd heard Plopper was going to be on the show this season. Too bad it's not an in-continuity episode.

Edit: Wow, that ending was lame, even by the last few season's standards.
