Guys i have 99 Toyota Corolla .The engine is gone.There is 1 guy selling 98 Toyota Corolla engine for $200 low km.I read online that engine will fit my 99.I asked my mechanic about it and he said i need to get the vin# of car the engine is from.We need to verify first 5 digit of vin# with my car vin# to make sure it matches.
The problem is the guy dosent have vin#.he got engine from junk yard and is saying the engine is working perfect guaranteed.He said he got for his car and it didnt fit.He will give full refund.
But now problem is should i trust this guy and get engine.and now.
is there any way to check the engine is good before installing it.let me know.thank you
