buying used g1

hi new here, what do i look for when buying a used g1 i have my own sim card, please tell me what to do while looking at this phone

Hi, and welcome to the forums.

What do you mean by "what do I look for"? Are you going to be next to the phone when purchasing it (so can look for damage, check things are working)?

One thing to look out for, is to make sure that if the SIM card you already own will work in that phone. For a phone to accept any SIM card it must be unlocked (i.e. not locked to a specific network). So, your SIM must either by T-Mobile (assuming the G1 was originally purchased through T-Mobile), or the phone must be unlocked.

few things to look for are to ensure the Keyboard fully works, a lot of people are trying to pass damaged phones off in my market area so do a full test of the phone to make sure the keyboard, camera, and battery takes a charge before buying the device.... and I would call the serial number in to make sure it isn't a stolen device t-mobile will lock your phone service if they determine you are using a stolen device.
