Buying speakers for boyfriend's jeep for christmas?

So his speakers are blown out and playing music above really quiet sounds distorted and the blown out bass ounds like crap

I'm considering buying these

Question 1: How many would I need to buy? Should I try and figure out how many in his car are actually blown out first?

Question 2: Would I need to take his car to an auto place to have them installed? If I had a car savvy friend, would they be able to install them for me?

Can you offer me any other advice about purchasing these speakers?

(I know they may not be top of the line, but I'm a starving college student on a tight budget.)
 
I really couldn't tell you which are blown but most car come with 4 speakers 1 in each door.

are you 100% sure these are the right speaker size for his jeep
when buying speaker they usually come in pairs to you would get 1 for each front door more than likely also its not very hard to install speakers im sure your friend could do it.
You also picked out a very good brand for someone who probably doesnt know much about car audio :)
