Buying rewritable DVDs for a Panasonic DVD Recorder.?

Hi. I have a Panasonic DMR-EZ17 DVD recorder.

I'd like to buy some rewritable DVDs for it so I can record over and over on the same disk. Should I get DVD+RW or DVD-RW, and will I need to format each disk before I record on it? If so, would that be different if I got a one-time writable DVD-R or DVD+R instead? I'd rather not have to wait for the disk to format each time.

Thanks.

There really isn't a difference between DVD+/-RW. The disc NEEDS to reformat every time you record. And if you were to purchase DVD+/-R instead, it's like wasting your money. You will eventually have to use a new DVD+/-R disc every time you record something.. and you can't overwrite it.
