Buying phone off ebay, but want sprint protection plan...?

Okay, so I want to buy a new phone off of ebay because I dont like mine.

Can I Buy a phone off of ebay and then get a protection plan on it?
Like say if I drop it in the water, Or if it gets stolen?

Will i be able to get a new phone from sprint even thought i bought the original phone from ebay?

Get what im saying?
