Buying a used car help?

First go and research the type of car you are wanting and find out the retail value of similar cars,use kbb or the nada web sites. Then go in and get the very best price and make the dealership put it in writing once you have settled on a price that includes your tax,title and all fees then have your cashier check made out.
 
If a car dealer is asking $15,350.00 for a used car & I go in there with a cashiers check-What would be a good amount to have the check made out for (example $14,000.00) & I they will accept the sale ???
