Buying a Toyhauler

Yep, we have one, a Fuzion 302 Touring Edition II. I used it for our trip to Sturgis, Yellowstone, Utah, etc... The nice thing was not having to spend every night in a hotel room, we enjoy camping and riding so it's the best of both worlds. WE load 2 bikes in it with no problems.

Like everyone has said, make sure you spend at least 2-3 hours on the walk thru at the dealer and try everything, A/C, heat, fridge, generator, etc..
I had a few minor problems and fixed them myself since it was easy and I knew it was fixed right (kind of like our bikes!).

I also use it for heading down to my land in TN for hunting, we load up the ATV's and spend a week down there, self contained.

Good luck with you search for one.

Trailer a Bike??!!

Just kidding. Go for it.
Like they said, inspect the thing top to bottom...

I call mine the "Friday trailer".

The reason for the ordering of one was because there was none w/ a generator...this model only comes w/ an 80 gallon fresh water I hope thats enough...I ordered most of the goodies.

Almost pulled the trigger on one a couple years ago. Will still get one some day. Did alot of research and reading on brands, quality, reliability, ect.. My top 2 choices were either a Jayco or Keystone.
But like others have said, be prepared for some initial go backs to the dealer for minor repairs. A generator and spare gas tank were 2 of the things I had to have.

Thanks for the responses...I just got off the phone w/ the dealer about my intent of the pre check...and floor thickness which is 1" in the toy area 5/8" threw the living and 3/8" on the roof.

Contact Family Camping, (campers) in Pottstown. Compare the price of the Raptor to a KZ of the same size. I think you may change brands. In my opinion, the Raptor, although a very good looking unit, is way over priced.
We have had our KZ 25 for 6 years. It's been to Sturgis and many other events and rallys between here and there and has served us well. As stated, no matter where you buy, check it out. Ask them to fill the tanks and run the water pump for you. Other than poor tires, (not the trailer makers fault) my only problem was a drain pipe under the tub. We put up with water on the floor for two seasons because I thought, and tried to fix, the tub seal. I finally found the problem to be one of the drain pipes having not been glued.

I looked at the KZ they are nice. However the floor plan is all wrong to meet are needs. http://kz-rv.com/mxt/2011_MXT301.html

The one we ordered. http://www.keyperformance-raptor.com...st=&model=30FS

Thanks for the responses...I am getting the same message over and over "check it thoroughly before signing"...kinda spooks me for such an investment.

It looks like your unit is a "tag along" type unit (Bumper pull). Make sure that you have a quality weight distribution hitch with good sway control. I have towed several 25 to 33 foot bumber pull trailers thousands of miles, and can say with confidence that without good weight distribution/sway control, you will be miserable.

I've got a fifth wheel TH and don't worry about that stuff anymore.

Set it up yourself closely following the directions. The dealers all do a half-assed job on WD set-up.

Max out the air pressure on the trailer tires and monitor them closely.

I could go on and on, but I'll recommend another forum if I can..maybe...It's for (RV) 's and it's a (Dot)(net). Lots of good info there.

Man, I hope I don't get banned.

Oh yeah, great times with the wife, friends, and the motorcycles. Have done Laconia twice in a ToyHauler and Thunder Beach twice. Also regularly camp/bike in the North Georgia mountains...Good times. Yeah, I'm not a real biker with my trailer...Sue me.

That's a nice looking rig. Personally, I prefer a 5th wheel simple because they tow so much better than a bumper pull.

I'm sure 80 gal. will suffice. Mine has 110 gal. of fresh, 50 gal black, 50 gal grey and a 25 gal fuel tank for the generator/fuel station.

I'm looking at this one as my next purchase. http://www.forestriverinc.com/nd/default22.asp?location=rv&unittype=&page=floorviewertt&model=396WP&choice=wolfpack&nav=rec&name=2811&series=Wolf5thWheel

Hope you and your family enjoy that a bunch. But you really shouldnt have told us here about it, you know the REAL men here that are so against putting a bike on a trailer will be pissin and crying. But ignore them and enjoy!
