Ok here are the facts

1) buying a home
2) not married
3) Equal debt and income

The question is, how does it work come tax time. We obviously want to both use the house as a write off, especially the year after we purchase it. Can anyone help?
If it matters the home is in MN

The whole thing is a really bad idea. Same with two roommates buying a house together. If the relationship ends in disagreement. It is very hard to deal with the house. And in this market it will be almost impossible to sell it for a long time. So what do you do, still live with each other when its over?

I wouldn't reccommend it man. There is always going to be problems and you might regret it. Just buy it yourself when u have the money.
