I am looking for a bigger vechile, and I love the nitro. But with the economy and bailouts, etc. I am scared to buy, My husband has horrible credit, but we need something asap! we have 2 kids, and expecting anthor one soon, I need to know what to watch out for, and not get handled by the dealers??

We have a nitro in my family and they are not junk, they are very reliable and we have had no problems with ours. the backseat is roomy enough for three full size adults and there is enough storage space behind the backseat for pretty much anything.

id read the reviews on it first before i bough tit here's the reviews on the 2008 model,it has all you,ll need in it,good luck and this is the one from Edmund's which is considered to be the best reviews given on a vehicle,http://www.edmunds.com/dodge/nitro/2008/review.html

Do your research before you decide on anything.
The Nitro is a big piece of junk.
Consumer reports rates it the worst SUV in its class.
The Jeep Liberty is on the same platform and also not recommended.

First, I would check out the Ford Escape or the Ford Edge if you want to buy American.
If you are open to anything, I would look at the Honda Element or the Scion xB if you want a boxy SUV.

This is a terrible time to attempt to get financed if you have bad credit because many lenders will disqualify you due to the economy.
Do your lender shopping like you would your car shopping. Don't let the dealer dictate your terms. Apply online or go to your local credit union.

I would get something older and used if money and financing/credit are going to be a problem.

Check out something like a 2003 Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV-4. There are plenty of reliable vehicles like these out there at a cost that won't break the bank.

No matter what you end up doing, go to www.edmunds.com and do some reasearch. They even have 'true market values' that tell you what you should pay for the vehicle (new or used).
