Buying a cellphone online?

I just went to the store to buy a cellphone but they were all out, I have a plan already and i just want to buy a phone with retail price and then get it activated. Is there anyway to buy this phone for retail online without a plan, and bring it to the store to have it activated with the same number i have now on my old phone, instead of going to another verizon store hoping they have it
