I am looking at buying a Cadillac CTS 2004 EU with the 2.6L V6 engine,
with 44 000 miles.
I understand that there are major differences between the US and EU version,
most notably the engine.
Doing some research I find that the 04 EU has the LY9 engine
AKA GM 54-Degree V6 2.6 engine
AKA Ellesmere V6 2.6,
produced by Opel, UK.
I've read that there has been problems with the Opel engine on some models;
I assume though, this is the US model engine LA3 3.2.
Is the EU engine reliable ? Also, what are the major pitfalls on this model ?
