buying a an older vehicle? 1987 toyota truck?

Im interested in buying a 1987 toyota pick up truck, its a v6 2WD, toyota Xtra cab i beleive. its a little old but it has really low KMS for a vehicle of this age, it has 81,000 KMs on it, or 51000 miles. the frames got little rust but nothing major due to the low millage. The owener said last year he replaced the brakes and exhaust.

what i want to know if theres parts available at most Toyota dealers, or would they have to special order them? how reliable would an average older vehicle be? would i be pumping money into this thing?
yeah i think i am wrong about the v6, but you say they are good trucks? Its an automatic yes.

Is it a stick or a automatic? and go to kelly blue book I believe that toyota didn't start putting v-6's in till 90 or 91 I could be wrong, when they did they had a problem with a rubber hose between the truck body and the engine it would rub threw and blow the engine and it was almost impossible to replace it without removing the engine, The 87 and 88 toyota trucks were good rigs, if it's an automatic though check the trans fluid and see if it's burnt, if it is figure about 250.00 to get it serviced. Good luck. the site for kelly blue book is http://www.kbb.com, and if it does not show that it had a v-6 optional then beware.
