Butterfly Effect.......Opinion.

I saw it at the cinema when it came out & preferred that ending to that one than the one on the directors cut. I won't post any spoilers but I was upset with the directors cut one.

I watched the director's cut for the first time last night, and I have to say I much prefer the ending in the original.

I found it more heart-wrenching that he chose to sacrifice ever having had a relationship with his girlfriend, and had to live the rest of his life with the pain of knowing he could never be with her (captured perfectly in that final scene where they cross each other in the street), than the literal sacrifice we see in the director's cut.

I have just realsied I have only seen the directors cut then

when he goes back in time and kills himself in the womb like his 2 or 3 other brothers did

how does the normal version finish?

He goes back to the first time he met kaylie (sp?) and instead of talking to her at a party he tells her something bad like talk to me again and i will kill you or worRAB to that effect, then it goes forward to kutcher walking out of a building in manhattan i think it is and he is on the phone and he passes kaylie and stops and she looks back and carries on walking then he does the same

I preferred the director's cut, I thought it was sadder than the other one, that he would kill himself rather than let Kaylie have a bad life, and also the thought of realising that he wasn't ever meant to have lived.

I saw the director's cut first, then the other version on C4 and that didn't really seem to do the rest of the film justice, in that the whole thing was just resolved with Evan scaring Kaylie at a party.

I prefer the Theatrical Version, i just thought it was more interesting the way they both walk past each other and they both seem to recognise each other, but Evan walks away anyway. Plus the Oasis song suited it perfectly.

The DC version didn't really seem right to me, a step too far imo.
