I saw all 3 debut episodes of Busytown Mysteries (aka "Hooray For Huckle!") [note: I DVR'd them in advance prior to their airings] and here's my review/judgement of this cartoon
First off, This is the return of the world of Richard Scarry's Busytown (basically, years after his death and CiNAR's Busy World of Richard Scarry series) and often times revisitng a franchise that bring back memories to most folk is often problematic as they sometimes screw it up (prime example: Care Bears: Adventures in Care-A-Lot).
To those that point out that is A: Made in Canada and B: Made in Flash plus add that to the majority (excluding the Toonboom produced Nelvana series "My Friend Rabbit") of Canadian made flash toons are mostly mediocre, unwatchable pieces of garbage (e.g. Total Drama, Stoked, 6teen) and those who gave up Canadian Animation after the mediocre garbage that was Atomic Betty and the omittance of The Raccoons from the US airwaves.. I will assure you that inspite that the show is made in canada (CBC is involved) and it's made in flash, The series is very well done.
The Flash Animation is very fluent and not showing the obvious limitations of the Flash software
Seeing this is a show aimed at "preschoolers" (though shares the same block with a teen-aimed cartoon that ties with the live-action Sabrina series, albeit in reruns) there will be some annoyances, thankfully the annoyances is only one item and that is Gold Bug and his constant reporting of the mystery which would often drive you nuts like Dora's constant busting of the 4th wall on "Dora The Explorer"
Now, Let's talk about the voice actors: After re-visiting The Busy World of Richard Scarry (courtesy of my local MyNetworkTV affilliate), I was a but baffled with the small minority of the voices given to the characters but they are good however after a decade of seeing CiNAR's "The Busy World of Richard Scarry", The V/Os will need of getting use to
The character designs return to my praise of the use of flash animation on this show namely avoiding the obvious limitations of the flash software, basically put The character designs look like they came out of the books of Richard Scarry (including the main character, Huckle Cat)
My final score for Busytown Mysteries: (a very high) MUST WATCH!
