Business Trip - Running Away From Home?

Me(15 years old) and a friend(17) of mine have been planning on going to my grandparents house (4 hours away) during spring break. We've been planning this for over three months. I emailed my dad asking him i i could go up there (parents divorced) and he responded asking me a bunch of questions and then he waits till the last minute (not even a week before) to tell me i can't go. Me and my friend are starting a web design business, and are actually going to be working under someone at the moment so we can get some money to start our business. Could either one of us get in trouble with the law for going since my dad denied me permission? He's a real jerk, although i know it doesn't matter in a situation like this. I don't want to get in trouble my grandfather is a retired police man and he said that the police wouldn't do anything because running away isn't a criminal offense. I'm still worried though.
