I have a project but no initial funding to raise a loan from the bank. My project cost is 400K, My investor wants to invest in 100K initially and wants me to get a loan of 300k. He then wants to be equal partners with me and make work permits for him (family of 3 as dependents) and his close associate.so they can legally work in the company he is investing in.I am hesitant as i think we are doing much more than just borrowing 300k in our name.We are actually helping him and his family along with his associate to relocate. In the above scenario he is willing to pay back the loan on 100k and we will be on 200k (Total money borrowed from bank 300) He is not willing to settle for anything less then 50%. This project is Important to us, and there has been a lot of hours and hard work involved in this.I have traveled halfway across the globe to come meet these people and feel I should get more. is that a fare deal? What could be added or removed? I have done a lot of brain storming and have gone back and forth with some ideas and it just does not seem to work. At one point I even asked them to split the loan of 300 with me and not just 100 on him and 200 by us.They want it the first way which is the above mentioned way. What you think will make the deal sweeter or is it just fine the way it is. I am really looking for some great suggestion, ideas from you folks out there who are in business, partnerships and can relate to this. I really would like to close this deal. Please help.
