Business (Competitive) Intelligence?

Alright, so this may be a silly question or it may be completely legitimate. That's why you're all here.

I just got done watching "Duplicity" and can't get over how interesting a job in corporate "competitive" intelligence seems. I'm currently pursuing a B.A. in International Studies and Communication. I graduate in a year and I'm looking into Rutgers University's M.A. in Global Issues with a concentration in Terrorism and National Security. My plan/goal has always been to work in government (state or federal) intelligence in some capacity. That said, I've also always had a great deal of interest in business and I can't see a more perfect fit for myself than a job that combines both fields.

So, on to the question. Do jobs in Business Intelligence actual exist? If so, where can I find more information on such jobs? Moreover, what people (with what degrees and what experience) are required for such positions? And finally, what kind of work is actually done?

Thanks in advance for the help!
