The left (and some conservatives and libertarians) absolutely freaked out over what the Patriot Act supposedly gave Bush the power to do. FDR, on the other hand, actually did everything that they say Bush had the potential to do. No outrage. Interesting. And what about the racial aspect to this? Could you imagine the reaction the left would've had if that was Bush doing what FDR did? My goodness.
