I'm sure this is another symptom of LPR/acid reflux. Do any of ya'll get this? I was recently very ill w/ the influenza virus and now my tongue is very sore more like a burn. Listerine about kills me every day so why isn't it getting rid of bacteria? I also notice when slime and goo come up my throat, and it tastes bitter that it will burn my tongue. Lately I just feel like I have a paper cut on my tongue. I've also had mouth sores/herpes simplex sores pop up, rarely though, and wonder if it could be that, too.

Yes, this is all part of LPR. I have all of this. The acid is attacking your immunoglobulins in your thrat, which is why you get these infections. The mucus and slime is your body's reaction to try to neutralize and flush out the harmful acid.

The chances are that you are making it worse with the Listerine. You have already killed all the good bacteria along with the bad bacteria when you took the antibiotics. It sounRAB to me like you have a case of Thrush and will need either pill or a special rinse by prescription but definetly stop the Listerine as it is killing the good stuff which kills the bad stuff. You might also try Acidophalous pills which will add good bacteria to your stomach as you killed those off also.

I've had the sores on my tongue. One of the doctors prescribed dental paste and that helps immediately.

I got this as a prescription from my doctor. The entire name is:

Triamcinolone Acetonide (That's actually on the tube). Another word on the bottle is Triamcin/Orabase 1% Dent-Past 5 gm.

It's awkward to apply the first few times but like I said - It really works.

Hope that helps.

Sue
