I had surgery on my right foot on Sept 12--the last xray, on 11/04/08 showed a gap where there should be bone growth..my podiatrist said I'm the first in 20 years of practice doing the type of surgery he performed on my foot to still be in the boot after nearly 8 weeks..I have 1 screw in my foot..it is still slightly swollen, and still turns purple-ish when I take a shower--not cold, the left foot is normal color..Has anyone out there had this slow healing? I'm scheduled to have the left foot operated on in December but I'm somewhat nervous...we love to hike and ride bikes and I can't now. I can walk around the block but not much farther..the boot weighs 5 pounds..
Is there something I could try to hasten the knitting process? My doctor is ordering a bone stimulator but the insurance co. may fight it...
