buldging discs

i had my first baby on the 1st of june 07 since the birth i have sufferd really bad back and leg pain after attending my gp he sent me for a xray but they didnt find anything so since my back and leg got worse i was sent for an mri to be told of buldging discs l4-l5 my gp explained that my discs was not out r lying on a nerve but were some what overlaping i dont understand how this is causing server pain in my leg but pins and needles round my ankles im only 27 and geting depression modes because im limited to what activities i can do i only have to walk down to my local shop and back up again that the pain gets wworse it is really upseting for me as my child has only turned 9mts and really alert theres only a small limit of time i can hold my child for standing/walking about im having to depend on my mum as my partners at wrk but my mum has sliped discs also can you explian to me abit more so i understand im not guna be able to go back to wrk as the pain is bad also do you think i would be eligible for incapasity benifits and DLA ive worked since i was 16 sory this is a long letter but i worry as i want more kiRAB to be told wen carrying m first child he irritated as i said before ive never suffered back pain like this until 9mths ago thank you for listinig lisa kelly co.down
 
you need to see another kind of dr. GP's do not know how to treat/handle back pain/discs, etc...that is not their specialty. you need to see either a neurosurgeon or orthopedic surgeon. also, you might want to get a copy of your MRI report so that you can read it for yourself. Sometimes the drs (for some odd reason!)...do not tell you everything that is on your report. You should be able to get a copy of the report from the place that done the MRI on you...or even your own dr. You might could make more sense of things if you were to get a copy of the report yourself...and we can help you figure out what things mean if you dont understand it. but you definitely need to see a dr that deals with back/leg/disc/nerve problems...a GP is just not going to do the job!
