Hello everyone, I am building a desktop PC with the primary goal being gaming. Other things I will be doing on the computer will be web surfing, schoolwork, netflix, and music. This is the first PC I will have built, so don't hate me if I chose a part that wasn't compatible or something (I'm questioning the motherboard a little, as I am a unfamiliar with this process). Also keep in mind that i have a LIMITED budget. The cost of this computer (hardware only) is 715$. That does not include the OS, which I plan on using Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (100$). It also does not include a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. I plan on spending 200$ on the monitor and 100$ on the keyboard/mouse. Im kinda in the dark about keyboards, so if any one has a good suggestion I'm willing to spend 60$ on a good keyboard and 40$ on a wireless mouse. The total cost of the add ons (OS, monitor, keyboard/mouse) is 400$, bringing the grand total to 1,115$. I'm hoping this will be a good gaming computer that will last me 2-3 years (I can always upgrade components in the future if needed). I am totally open to suggestions/comments/criticism. If you choose to tell me something that is wrong or won't work, please don't leave it at that, as any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I understand 8GB of RAM isn't needed to run most modern games efficiently, but, as I said, I am looking for this computer to last me at least 2-3 years, so I figure 8GB will be plenty for the years to come.
