Building a Gaming PC that can also run Avid Media Composer Video Editing Software?

I'm trying to consolidate costs here. I want to have a PC that effectively runs most games at better than decent settings, but I also need a Video editing PC to run Avid on and properly edit. Now Avid almost requires a Nvidia Quadro graphics card, but from what I've heard, the Quadro graphics cards perform substandard in games due to a difference in the technology used to render video streams and 3d gaming.

My current plan is to build a PC that will run two video cards, probably a high end GeForce, and then a Quadro. Is this a good idea, or should I just choose one or the other? Are there any graphics cards that can perform both tasks exceptionally well?

ONe more thing, I've read that the GeForce GTX 295 can do both video editing and gaming very well, is there any truth to this, and would I run into compatibility issues with Avid?
