Situation:
The Service engine light and Low coolant lights come on simultaneously.
I Pull into my parent’s house for coolant, notice a funny noise and an odd smell. Get my father and the Noise is actually something causing the engine to bobble the rpm’s between 500-750.The smell turns into smoke (oil). I just switched the oil over to synthetic GTX with an STP Filter, 2000 miles ago.
I pull out to get to go to a parts store to get the computer read and noticed a puddle of water, melted ice and snow on the driveway from the catalytic converter! we quickly pull the car into the garage onto ramps and drill two 1" holes to realize it was clogged.
Its odd that the converter clogged so abruptly, the engine failed and now the engine will not turn over. We pulled spark plugs 1,3, and 5. 1 & 5 had oil on them, I put in three new plugs to test the engine before hand I cranked the engine forward 30-40 degrees. I started the engine and it only turned over 1 time and then heard a loud collision.
MY QUESTION Finally:
Could the clogged catalytic converter cause back pressure in 15 minutes to blow the head gasket to allow oil into the pistons and creating a hydraulic cylinder and won’t let the engine combust?
Any other comments/suggestions?? All would be appreciated thanks!
