Hi Flow, they really arnt keeping Erik on at harley . That was a press damage control tactic .
there is a executive secritary at H-D that is a hardcore Buell enthusiast that lets the cat out of the bag at times . The people at H-D HATED having the Buell line . The original idea was people/new riders would buy a Buell then ...Upgrade..., to a Harley . Of course when it came time to get anouther bike people Knew that a Harley was a technically inferior product and laughed at the idea. The general motorcycling consumer also questioned why Buell , being such a small company in comparison. Could make a better basic product along with innovations and new technology , wheras Harley was still stuck in the 1960s.
The only NEW product Harley made? was the V-rod engine which was a Buell project that H-D took over after there PROJECT NOVA engine failed. Buell had co- designed the engine( with Porsche ) with a much smaller gearbox . Harley then said they wanted it for the V-rod but make the gearbox bigger for styling purposes ... Thats why the XBr Firebolts have the Sporster based motor . Even then Buell made Harley Look bad because he redesigned so many parts in that motor , they practically are different engines altogether. Head design, bigger valves lightened pistons , better oiling, bigger but lighter crank, ect . Hell its not even cooled the same . Buells have oil cooling like the old Suzuki GSXR whereas oil injectors shoot cool oil directly on the crown of the piston from underneath. the list is extensive but you get the point ..... Buell made Harley Look bad and hated them for it !!

SO!

There will be NO rebadging on ANY models and they even made public anounsment to the press
Flow ill pm you about the other matter. thanks Jake
