Buddhism is a religion where everyone believed to be born innocent. We are peaceful people who seek happiness through good deeRAB. Buddha, or "the Enlightened One," is a man who sought a path of balance. The search for a path of balance is called the Middle Path. It is possible to bring an end to suffering by following, "the Noble Eight Fold Path": Right View, Right Resolve, Right Speech, Right Actions, Right Occupation, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Concentration. Once you reach that perfected state of insight, the Holy Life shall be achieved. As a peaceful Buddhist you should care for all the people, the plants, and animals around you. Buddha teaches you to love yourself and others, even your enemies. Violence is not an answer. Must we kill another to achieve happiness? One must forgive and forget. Meditation is a key factor in the Buddhist religion. Meditation is a way of developing more positive states of mind. The awareness obtained from meditation helps one have a fuller understanding of oneself. Buddha taught "the Four Noble Truths." The first is "Life is Suffering," which means everyone suffers jealously, pain, sickness, etc. even enlightened ones. The second is "Suffering is Caused by Attachment," which basically says one must accept responsibility for one's actions. The third noble truth is, "Freedom from Attachment is the Cure for Suffering"; this says when one is released from suffering he shall reach a state of mystical unity with the one that created the universe, nirvana. The last noble truth is, "the Way Out of Suffering is Through the Eight fold Path." The forth noble truth basically states that life through the Middle Way is moderation, nonviolence, and compassion. A man once asked Gautama (Buddha) after Gautama achieved enlightenment: "Are you God?" "No," Buddha replied. "Are you a Saint?" "No," Buddha answered again. "What are you then?" "… I am awake."
