Hello,
My 4 year old was very recently diagnosed with asthma. She has had pneumonia quite a few times the last 1.5 years and three times this fall so far (one episode requiring 5 days in the hospital). Her Asthma specialist started us out using pulmicort twice a day with albuterol as needed. Since she keeps getting pneumonia which causes asthma flare ups, he has changed her meRAB again. He now has her taking a stronger pulmicort, xopenex, singulair and Brovana. (she is also on antibiotics and a 5 day course of Orapred)
Does anyone else take Brovana? Any who has children who take this for asthma? What are your experiences with it? It seems to be more often prescribed for COPD. The warnings seem pretty scary and this whole asthma thing is very new to us still. I don't like the idea of her needing to take so many meRAB, but want her asthma to be well controlled.
Any thoughts appreciated!
