bronchitis

had dry chesty cough for 5 weeks, had amoxillin did nothing, then klaracid an antibiotic for bronchitis/ pneumonia did nothing, had clear chest x ray and clear blood tests. going back to docs again , still have bad chest and feel weak and exhausted, what the hell, is it :dizzy: viral . its doing my head in.:dizzy:
 
1 sunny 1 thank you for your suggestion. i see the doctor again next week, i thought i had all my blood results back but have not.i am 48 i have had the odd chest infection over the years that always clears with antibiotics. but this if it is bronchitis is a nightmare, don,t even smoke. 2 lots of antibiotics and still a bad chest. i,ve also never been asthmatic in my life. its all puzzling to me.
 
Wardie, I grew up with horrible asthma, then it just went away when I was 21, never had it again. I am now 66 and when the docs tell me that my coughing spells are asthma and that asthma never goes away, I just don't want to believe them, you know? I just don't ever want to have asthma again. But I have a doctor that treats me for fibromyalgia, and I trust her with my life, so when she told me this, I gave in to the fact. I did not wheeze, just the darn cough. So I got the inhaler, and singular, and low and behold, no more cough, and when I do get the cough, I take the inhaler, and it goes away. I have had Bronchitis, It is horrible, so ask for the inhaler, hopefully it will help you. Good luck, let me know how you are...

hi sunny its not asthma i dont think,i think its viral bronchitis since my chest has not responded to 2 lots of antibiotics. ii see doctor again next week. reason i dont think its asthma is because i am fatigued , weak and wiped out things you get with an infection. you dont feel like that with asthma do you? also a hacking cough.plus never had astma in my life.still waiting for blood test results , next week. anyway we,ll see bye wardie
