Alltel Contract Phone,
You can certianly go to a store and purchase a phone, bear in mind the retail price can be significantly higher depending on what phone is purchased. However, if you want a cheaper phone; you would be looking at going online say ebay or calling Verizon directly and requesting prices for a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) device. These are Refurbished phones that are guaranteed to work, and if not a one year warranty is in effect upon purchase. The list of available CPO phones range from Blackberrys to the cheapest phone being a LG VX???? at like $50.
The only discrepancy is that upon purchase of one of these CPO phones, are they are designed to work with Verizon's Price Plan; Not Alltel's. To verifiy whether a device you would like to purchase will work with an Alltel priceplan, call in and request to speak with "Alltel Conversion" Dept. or even Tech Support should be able to answer that as well. *611/3 - This is if you want to keep your Alltel priceplan (assuming your on one still). By changing the Priceplan or the Phone, this shall not affect your Alltel Contract.
Bottom Line: Purchase an Alltel phone via eBay or CPO phone by calling Verizon (800-922-0204)
