I am looking at immigrating to the UK, during the first part of 2011 - between March and August. - Visa dependent.
My daughter will be 16 years old @ the time and would obviously need to attend school.
I have done quite a bit of research on the net, but still am super confused as to how things actually work. Coming from South Africa, we start school a lot later than in the UK, she would be in grade 10 here.
Do I understand correctly in thinking that sixth form starts at age 16 what entry requirements are there for admission?
I am at a bit of a loss as to where my daughter will be most comfortable, last year at secondary school, of starting sixth form in the Aug/Sept?
Also again need to know entry requirements, so that if she is way behind from her education here we can arrange extra tuition on arrival or while still in SA.
I hope my request is understandable, and would love to hear from, parents, teachers or students themselves.
