How does the literature of the 17th & 18th centuries cast England in a skeptical light?

First, ignore the previous post. Both spellings of "skeptical" are acceptable.

Second, this question is far too broad to answered fully in a small forum like this. Perhaps you should select one or two works from each century and analyze them. That should give you a good start. If you're looking for something a bit more detailed, check your local bookstore. Literature scholars have written books about this kind of stuff.

Good luck.

You need to rethink your question and be more specific . Skeptical does not make sense in this context and the spelling is wrong - sceptical is correct. A' k' seldom follows an 's' in English, a 'c' is more usual as you will see if you refer to a dictionary.

At that time, Literature changed rapidly with literary movements (from Renaissance to the Romanticism). Literature also changed greatly at that time.
