Britannia High is really good!

I think the guy who plays Jez is definately the best actor on the show, not that I think the others are bad, just he manages to bring more emotion into the sing/dance aspect of the show, and he's really cute. :o

Great episode!

I've been recording this every Saturday on ITV2 for my Daughter (and wife ) but for some reason I can't find it in tomorrows listing. Does that mean they're not showing it!! I'll be in big trouble if they're not.
That also happened with the Fashionista Diaries on Fiver. I recorded every episode for my daughter but they never showed the last episode on the Saturday so she never saw it. I know these are classed as REPEATS but to us they are ALTERNATIVES and they suit us better. If they're not going to run the whole series why bother showing any at all and even worse why no warnings about it?

I enjoyed it. I wonder whether people would be put off by the intro as that seemed far too fast paced, the camera moving about all over the place - it was really disconcerting.

Once it settled though, I thought it was good - everything was cheesy but that was the point, and the songs were catchy.

So, was that meant to be the 'coming out' episode? I've got a sneaky feeling it was and suspect that ITV may have got cold feet at the last minute over tackling a gay storyline. I noticed it had two writers instead of (the originally announced) one which made me suspect the episode had undergone a bit of a rewrite. Just my opinion, of course, but I thought the lyrics to the songs Jez sang and much of the dialogue between him and his dad, about being true to himself and living his own life would have slotted in well with a coming out story, as would BB's initial bitter reaction. Maybe that was the original intention? The quick line from Jez's dad about having a gay son (that didn't even make BB bat an eyelid) did come across to me like it was just thrown in to fit in with the continuity for future episodes.

Anyway, enough of my conspiracy theory. :) What we did get was certainly entertaining enough, with a couple of great songs and much more depth of character than previously seen. Matthew James Thomas plays his part really well and I found myself caring much more about Jez's dilemma this week than I did about Danny's dyslexia last. Not that I don't like Danny; he's definitely got a sexy, cute thing going on. I just wish he'd do something with his hair. :p

Lol yeah i know not all stage school kiRAB are like that i've been to SY's before. I think people mistake their high amount of self belief with arrogance!..cos to be honest if they don't believe in themselves in this biz..their gonna get nowhere!

Hmmm..yeah I think they could have done way better on T4. I knew it wasn't going to be HUGE but i thought it would be more popular than it was. I reckon ITV1 didn't really help & this show was different to their usual programmes so it seemed almost out of place sometimes.

I really enjoyed last nights episode. I wasn't expecting it, and I was glad that it wasn't a coming out episode as following the previous two I was worried that every one was just going to be based around a cliche. The kid that plays Jeremy was a great singer as well which helped. It's my favourite episode so far, I think.

Not sure what to make of that!
I still feel sorry for Lauren, though. :p

And I'm sad Stefan had to go. Lola grates though so this week was never going to be brill for me.

Next week looks interesting....I wonder what's wrong?

i too had front row for wicked! dragged a mate to see it, she had no interest in it and bh documentry when georgina sang a bit of it for her audition??)

no idea what adam is up to next unfortunatly as his official site (www.adamgarcia.com) seems to have dissapeared, i used to check it now and then as was good for info.

and the only thing that is on imdb that current apart from BH, is a film called a woman called job, that is apparently in post production

Having just watched the Behind the Scenes programme on ITV1, I have to say that it's a real pity the final product hasn't lived up to the original aspirations of what the producers hoped for. Maybe if the actual episodes had captured half as much human drama and emotion as we saw in this documentary, ITV might have had a real hit on their hanRAB.

Ooh bobsicle! Turning my own worRAB against me, you rascal! ;) :D

Despite my previous comments, I did actually want BH to succeed, but a second season is now looking less likely by the week. The ratings are stagnant and ITV already appear to be wobbling, with talk of the planned live tour next year being drastically scaled down, and that despite the fact they've already booked and paid for venues. Definitely not a good sign if it's true. Personally I think BH has been stymied from the outset by ITV getting its timeslot so badly wrong. Although it has to be said that the poor scripts haven't helped either.

i agree, i have watched both the documentries as i have the dvd (part 2 is on itv next week) and whilst i like the show, the dvd shows what truly fantastic musicians and dancers the main cast are. hopefully if its not picked up for a second series then the cast go on to do some other good jobs, (i especially love georgina hagen - lauren, and mathew - jez, plus mitch is an incredible dancer)

make sure you watch next weeks documentry as its really good, i would also recommend the dvd even if you have watched the docu, as watching the episodes again after the documentry gives a much better appreciation of the show.

my personal view is it is the scripts/story that have let the show down, not the actors/dancing/music/choreography etc

I really have enjoyed BH series one. loved the live finale tonight too.

I really hope there will be a 2nd series, if there is will it be the same cast though?

last weeks was the last in the series, it was shown on itv 1 on saturday and was repeted last sunday, dont think they are repeating the live episode again on itv2 so you may have missed it, its released on dvd next month though if you have missed it

Does anyone else agree with me that Britannia High is really good!!!

It's fun, feel-good and a real guilty pleasure.

I don't know why people think it's gonna be a ratings flop.
