Hi ya ive got a question about my b 3200 its ben out off service for 2 or so years and i would like to get it going again is it possible or are they going to try and sell me a new one

Should not be a problem at all really. Just call in and have it added to your account and activated. You should then be asked to ensure it is updated to the latest firmware and they should then tell you they will ship you a new Smart Card.

Card should arrive in 5 to 7 days, insert it following the instructions and away you go.

Oh, btw it is $69.00 for a new smartcard if the IRD is still listed on your present account.

As the 3200 never had a card will that still apply.

I was never charged for a Card when I brought my 3200 out of retirement.

Why would he have to pay for a new card if its still on his account? If it was on his account, would he not have been sent a card?

If a receiver is deactivated, it still may be listed on the account and would not have been targeted for a replacement smartcard. If the smartcard is two generations old, the $69.00 smartcard fee applies.

Once again, the 3200 NEVER had a card before this swap.

Therefore $0 for a card.

If your smartcard starts with either of these, S0450, S0451, S0452, S0453 and S0454, they are very old cards dubbed as pre-aladdin. You need these cards to updated the revision on your receiver to accept the next set of cards called Aladdin. Unfortunately, there will be a charge of $69 to be upgraded to an Aladdin card. The next set of Aladdin smartcards start with either of these numbers; S0455, S0456, S0457, S0458 and S044. After that, you then will get a brand spanking new card, called Davinci for free, which starts with an S06, there are S0459 Davinci cards, but those are internal :).

Not sure if my text in the above post is visible to everyone so I will try one last time;

The 3200 NEVER had a card before this swap.

The onboard Smart Chip is compatible with the Aladdin Cards that other receivers had. This also applied to most 4100, 5200, 6100 and 9200 models as well.

Last year I re-activated (I am not sure if this is right word as it was never deactivated I just did not use it for a couple of years) my 3100, the new card arrived in mail in a few days and there was no charge. I still use it today.
Call them and you will easily find out.
