Brief flashes of intense faintness, narrow vision, dizziness?

You know that sensation you get when you go from laying down to standing up really fast, where all the blood rushes to your head and you feel like you need to lean on something and sometimes your vision gets narrow. It's a lot like that, except it happens at any random time - sometimes it's when I'm standing or walking, other times it happens from just turning my head or shifting positions. It lasts for literally about a second or two, and then it's fine again. It doesn't really interfere with my life or anything, it's just irritating and kind of worrisome.

It happens really frequently throughout the day, and when it does, I immediately feel like I'm going to lose my balance or my vision's going to get dim - but as soon as I have time to worry, the sensation is gone. I've been tired lately, but that's not necessarily related.

Any idea what could be causing this? Someone told me it could be an ear infection, since that effects your equilibrium, but my ears feel fine.

Thanks in advance, will pick best answer!
