I have an 11 month old, I am still nursing him. I had my very first period after childbirth last month (June). Before pregnancy I had normal 28 day cycles. So I expected my next period to start 4 days ago. No period. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. I'm just wondering if it's normal to have irregular periods while I'm still nursing, and if it's normal to skip a month? Could I be pregnant and just not have enough hormone to tell yet?

Totally normal! My daughter is 18 months now, and I am also still breastfeeding. My periods came back at 11 months also. And like you I had a regular 28 day cycle... but after childbirth I had my first then the second one wasnt until 35+ days later...even now they are up and down...it takes awhile.

But just incase wait a few more days a take another test - you never know hey!

Good luck, hope you get the result you want :)

Absolutely normal! Of course, you could be pregnant, however it's more likely that your hormones are all over the charts from nursing. As your baby nurses, your body releases prolactin, which affects your ovulation cycle and therefore your periods. It may be months, even after you wean your baby, before your cycle returns to normal. And it's not uncommon for your cycle to never return to "normal" and be very different than before you became pregnant. Just enjoy nursing while it lasts, and be proud of your choice to nurse your baby for this long! Not many women last 1 month, let alone 11 months! You're a great mommy for giving your baby this advantage! Of course, if you have concerns, talk with your OB!!
