BREAKING NEWS: Ivan Calderon plains to move down to 105 pounds?

Thanks for sharing this.

I don't see the harm in it. The man was undefeated as a 105-pounder, where he made ten defenses of his minimumweight title before moving up. I feel that his power would better translate at the weight, and, there's no one at 105 with his skill set. I'd like to see him figth South Africa's Nkosinathi Joyi or Japan's Kazuto Ioka and become the first lineal minimumweight champion in history. However, one does have to wonder, just how much does he have left at 36?

Giovanni Segura was able to KO Calderon both times because Segura was naturally bigger, longer, and a FEARSOME puncher, a tough challenge for anyone in boxing history at 108. The closest that comes to Segura at 105 is Joyi, who's more technically sound, but can be hit.

I wish him well, and will be following him more closely now that he's back in my favorite weight division.
