Hezbollah's leader offered Thursday to stop rocket attacks on northern Israel in return for an end to airstrikes throughout Lebanon.

However, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah also vowed to fire rockets into Tel Aviv if Israel strikes Beirut proper. Israeli warplanes have repeatedly bombarded Hezbollah strongholds in southern suburbs of Beirut.

"If you bomb our capital Beirut, we will bomb the capital of your usurping entity... We will bomb Tel Aviv," he said in a taped televised speech.

n issuing the threat, Nasrallah offered his first opening toward diminishing the three-week-old conflict, which has taken more than 500 Lebanese lives and killed more than 50 Israelis.

"Anytime you decide to stop your campaign against our cities, villages, civilians and infrastructure, we will not fire rockets on any Israeli settlement or city," he said.

In his statement, Nasrallah also said his fighters have inflicted "maximum casualties" on Israeli ground troops and that his guerrillas are "fighting until the last breath and last bullet."

Cliffs: Classy men in action.

No, that's now how it works at all. Maybe in America that's how things work, but not to the rest of the world.

If you SIGN to an agreement, with your own singature and verbal agreement, YOU HAVE TO follow it, no matter how many parties rejected the plan, and you just happen to be the only one who has signed on to it.

Here's a suggestion to Israel: DON'T SIGN TREATIES/PACTS/PLANS YOU DO NOT INTEND TO FOLLOW THROUGH!

The Arabs are not obligated to anything as they willingly choose to not sign anything proposed by anyone. Israel, on the other hand, is dumb enough to sign anything it can get its hands on.

EDIT: If one were to live life the way you suggest, that somehow one party is not obligated to follow a plan when the second party disagrees, then the state of Israel would have never been created.

When you say that all bets are off because Arabs did not agree to the 1947 P. Plan, then the Jewish signature on it, which created the State of Israel, is invalid, and therefore Israel is invalid as well.

Otherwise what you're saying is that the Jewish people back then only signed that plan to create their own land, but planned on not following anything else that was mentioned in it. If all bets are off, then Israel should not exist today.

I don't even know how to argue with such stupidity...

Not only did the Arabs not agree to the division of the land made by the UN in 1947, but they also LOST the war which they instigated, which shaped Israel.

Face it Israel won the Terrorists lost... again and again and again and again

BTW it's good that you read the whole article I posted rather then only the first two words

too bad Jerusalem is the Capitol of Israel...

and it is absurd how the terrorist leader speaks of Beirut as "his" capitol, as if he's a government sanctioned leader.

Do you see us fighting over bullshit religous places?

Personally I hope they bomb each other into oblivion, I'm sick of the bullshit conflicts almost always based upon religion. And who cares about the casualties people fucking die deal with it, the world is seriously over populated any way.

This is why your American logic fails almost anywhere in the Arab world. But please keep on thinking you're right. The more you think you're right, the more Jews and Americans will die, which is not a problem to me at all.

Well of course the US doesn't fight for religious land, as nothing in America has any religious importance. The US is secular in and of itself. There would be no reason for America to engage in religious/holy wars.

But since the Middle East is far far different.....
