Hello everyone, its been a long while since I have posted here. But, I just had to start another thread in my excitement
As you may know, I have been riding only about a year and my avatar shows my S50. A great bike, plenty of surprising performance. With my 34" inseam and the smallness of the S50, I decided to look at what I had always hoped Suzuki would introduce, AND they DID.
My club was planning a ride to upper state New York, and I went to my dealer (where I have bought a number of NEW snowmobiles over the years - never a bike) to pick up oil and filter for the S50 in prep for the long ride.
The dealer had an M90 (blue) on the floor and I just HAD to sit on it. I was asked if I was thinking about an upgrade (buy a long time friend and owner of the dealership). Well, I asked her to email me an offer on the BLACK one they had out in the garage.
The deal came though looking good enough for me to afford the M90, so, using the same credit union, insurance co. etc., it was all done in one day! I picked up my M90 two weeks ago, but have only road it home from the dealer and then a couple more times to get it inspected and then to work yesterday (Tuesday) to show the fellows at work.
So far I have around 70 miles on her, and I can't say enough about it! I subscribe to 'Cruiser' magazine, and they just did a wonderful article on four bikes costing $10,000. The M90 was the choice over a Honda, Yamaha and Harley among the staff riders / writers
!
They loved the power (quickest out of the bunch) and the handling was great. Only thing they complained about was that the breaking could be better.
Well, this bike DOES handle very well, the balance is very good (considering it weighs in nearly 300 lbs. over the S50). I LOVE the tall gearing, you can't really use 5th below 55 mph, and the power even at half a twist (paying attention to the brake-in suggestions from Suzuki) provides quick acceleration at highway speeds in FIFTH to 75 and 80 mph with ease.
I can go on and on...........but now I must change my avatar I guess.
The S50 was and IS a great bike, and it was perfect for learning and experiencing motorcycling first hand, and this newbie found it very forgiving.
All for now, and thanks for reading.
Ride safe everyone and stay in touch.
Best regards,
Gary
