THE BRAKE LINES DO NOT NEED BLED!!!! Please don't tell me that!! Here's the story, I bought an AMC Eagle. I replaced the front calipers and pads. I discovered that the line going to the rear brakes was cut off and pinched shut. I flared the lines and reconnected the rear lines to find out that the drum brakes in the rear were leaking very badly. I rebuilt the wheel cylinders and that stopped the leaking. After then bleeding all 4 brakes correctly, I shut the car off and pumped the brakes to make sure the wheel cylinder pushed the shoes, and it did with the first pump along with the new calipers. I then put everything back together and drove down the road to discover that I no longer have any brakes. The pedal goes right to the floor just like to would if my lines were open (there are NO leaks in the brake lines)! I then tried killing the engine and coasting down the hill, and my brakes worked as good as they should in that situation. I asked my local garage about the problem and they told me the actual wheel cylinder is bad and rebuilding it won't fix it. That doesn't make sense to me because they don't leak anymore and they work fine when the car is off. I have no idea how a power booster works but I'm assuming its off of vacuum. I followed vacuum lines in all different directions and everything looks fine. Any ideas? Sorry for typing so much.
