brake noise 2002 honda civic?

ok i have changed both front pads and rotors and rear brake shoes on my girlfriend civic.... i drove it and it seems fine... a week later she says the brakes are making a noise again when she hits them... and says when she takes off....any ideas cause this is driving me crazy
i have heard a noise ... only when i hit the brakes when im backing up.... could it be something besides the brakes?
