Insomniac Tryin to Help

I think I have an internal leak in my brake master cylinder. I'm going to be replacing it wednesday, but thought i would get some opinions about it first, to make sure this is the right course of action.
The symptoms are:
Coming to a stop, and only at low speeds (about 15mph and under) My brake pedal will push back towards me, and get really stiff, almost like its locked up but not. There will be an odd noise, but its not grindy, its more of a groaning kind of noise. The moment i let up off the brakes, and apply pressure again its just fine, but if i wait too long, even when barely depressed, it'll seize up again, which can be fixed by releasing pressure on the pedal, and trying again. I have to seriously pump my brakes to keep this from happening.
We're fairly certain its still my cylinder, but I'd like some other opinions too.
My truck does not have Anti Lock Brakes....
