I see nothing wrong with a company making money from selling a product the world relies on.
 
if they go bankrupt its going to be with the way they handled the situtation media wise, not because the shit doesnt get capped
 
Bankruptcy is not perfectly correlated with ability to pay. More likely they'll get bought out first. But still for a very low price.

How can a company go bankrupt if they make $61 million profit per day. With the spill they're paying out $16 million to clean it up. They're still making a fuckton of money.

Not to mention the hundreds of billions they have in assets.
 
As much as the situation sucks, I don't want to see them go bankrupt, they employ too many people.
 
I been using bp exclusively since this shit went down. For 93, its only $2.77 a gallon around here. All the sunocos and shit are like $2.79 for regular.

The only reason they haven't gone bankrupt yet is because of how they handled it. They knew from the beginning that it wasn't getting capped and it was going to be the worst incident in recent human history ecologically. By downplaying how bad it was, not admitting anything, etc they put speculation in the hands of regular people who are too stupid to realize this is a serious problem.. prolonging the amount of time they had before they lost all value... allowing them to possibly "accidently" fix it by some random means.
 
BP is going nowhere

If anything, they might change names, reorganize, etc


but they are making more then that hole is costing
